Russet
Type
Starchy
Description
A large oval-shaped tuber with yellow to brown skin and white flesh.

Origins
Although traded as a russet in Australia, there are many different variations of the russet potato dating as far back as 1908. Most of these have originated out of the USA, with one stemming from Great Britain and another from Japan. The variations depend on what cross-breeding was involved. Ours are mostly likely the Russet Burbank.
Uses
The size makes them ideal for chipping. They also make great wedges, roast or baked potatoes and mash.
I Have Used
I have baked, roasted, and tested in the paratha grated potato flatbread, used for rosti and mashed.
